Authorization for Entry as a Tourist or Visitor

MEMBERS OF MERCOSUR:

To enter the Plurinational State of Bolivia as a Visitor or Tourist, no Tourist or Visitor Visa is required.

TOURIST OR VISITOR ENTRY VISA

It is granted for thirty (30) calendar days for the purpose of rest or recreation that does not involve the exercise of remunerated or profitable activities on one’s own account or for others; it allows for the processing of a temporary stay for tourism or visiting before the General Directorate of Migration for two (2) similar periods. The stay for tourists is up to ninety (90) calendar days per year.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: 

Tourist or Visitor Entry Visa. Sworn Declaration form for visa application, obtained from the websites of the General Directorate of Migration or the General Directorate of Consular Affairs. Passport with a minimum validity of six (6) months. Valid Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate, if visiting high-risk endemic areas. Travel itinerary or return tickets, invitation letter from a person with legal domicile in Bolivia registered and authorized by DIGEMIG, or accommodation reservation. Economic solvency accredited through a sworn statement with supporting documentation. Recent photograph (4×4 white background). Proof of payment for the corresponding processing fee.

Cost: 300 UFV’s

The processing fee will be paid into the fiscal collection account of the Ministry of Government and the General Treasury of the Nation at BANCO UNIÓN, upon prior review and authorization by the platform service operator. The General Directorate of Migration is not responsible for deposits made without this authorization.

Processing Time: LAND AND AIRPORT BORDER CONTROL POSTS: The process takes up to 10 minutes.
CENTRAL OFFICE OR DEPARTMENTAL ADMINISTRATIONS: The process takes up to 30 minutes.
